This entry in the series was imagined more as a dark fantasy with elements of gothic & cosmic horror and no one is better suited to those particular genre stylings than filmmaker Guillermo Del Toro. This design project also established actress Tessa Thompson as the defualt inspiration for the look of Susannah and introduced the character of Mia whose look was entirely created from the AI and the Prim.
